STAY ENTERTAINED DURING THE LOCKDOWN
The national lockdown, in an attempt to flatten the curve of the coronavirus in South Africa, has left many of us panicking, and well… bored at home – especially on the weekend. Since then, many people have taken to social media to share recipes and other ways to stay busy. Musicians and alcohol companies have also come up with creative ways to keep us entertained on weekends. Here are some interesting ways that you can stay entertained indoors while staying safe during the Covid-19 pandemic:
Ballantine’s vs Jameson cocktail challenge
In a thrilling attempt to settle the score between Scotch and Irish whisky, Ballantine’s ambassador, Mini Radebe, and Jameson ambassador, Murendi Mulaudzi, will be going head to head in an online cocktail competition. Lockdown House Party
The lockdown house party, brought to you by Hunter’s Cider and Channel O, kicked off with a bang last weekend, and it’s back again this Friday and Saturday between 18:00 and 00:00. Hosted by Robot Boii, the show will feature these DJ’s this weekend;

Kid Fonque x Ballantine’s
Ballantine’s friend, DJ and producer Kid Fonque who has over 20 years of experience on the decks is also part of the lockdown excitement, he will be bringing you a six hour set. 6pm to midnight – that’s six hours of uninterrupted jams! This set will be hosted on Ballantines SA and Kid Fonque‘s Facebook pages on 4 April.
Battle of the ambassadors
Its SA vs Brazil on the 8th of April as the Ballantine’s SA ambassador Mini Radebe goes head to head against Malu Donanzan representing Brazil to see who can shake up the tastiest drinks. The ambassadors will also talk about their cocktail inspiration and engage briefly on the lockdown and how it has prompted us to be more creative. The Battle of the Ambassadors takes place on 8 April, at 7pm on @miniradebe‘s Instagram page.
Savanna Virtual Comedy Bar
Covid-19 has had a dramatic effect on the livelihoods of our country’s comedians, so Savanna Cider is ramping up their efforts in supporting and nurturing comedic talent. Savanna believes that in these trying times, comedians’ skills are needed more than ever and they’re proud to provide them with a virtual stage to connect and administer the medicine of laughter to South Africans.
