THE THIRD INSTALMENT OF THE ANNUAL JSE WOMEN EMPOWERMENT SUMMIT GOES VIRTUAL
In an effort to increase female representation amongst investors, the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) will be hosting its third #JSESheInvest summit on Saturday, 8 August. This much-loved annual event aims to empower, educate and support women who want to achieve financial freedom through investing on the stock market.
Due to lockdown regulations, the JSE will host a virtual event this year, with the digital platform providing an opportunity to expand its footprint and reach even more women from all walks of life. Each year the summit aims to build the movement adding even more empowered women, who are determined to build wealth for themselves and future generations. The JSE She Invests summit embodies the wise saying that when you invest in a woman you invest in a nation.
“Education and the empowerment of women through financial and investment literacy is fundamental to what we do at the JSE. This is why we continuously strive to make investment accessible and easy to understand for all South Africans. When a woman is empowered there are many who benefit, she thinks for the future of her family and aims to leave something for the generations to come. The #JSESheInvests Summit is all about making this possible,” says Zanele Morrison, Director of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at the JSE, and one of the speakers at the event.
The ladies can look forward to an assortment of topics, ranging from learning how to make your money work for you, through to compound growth and compound interest, to how to invest in Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and the evolution of investing. Skills, tools and tactical information is what the attendees will walk away with. Through learning and applying these financial tools, women will feel enabled to achieve monetary prosperity.
Morrison adds, “#JSESheInvests should be a neon pink highlight on the calendar of anyone who thrives in the company of inspiring women who all want to achieve financial latitude. We encourage all women from all across the country to attend, there is something for everyone.”
The event will be hosted by seasoned television presenter, business owner and 702 talk-radio host, Azania Mosaka. The hot line-up of speakers includes some of our country’s power-house women who will share valuable insights, knowledge and lessons. These include Founding Director and CEO of Innate Investment Solutions, Lynette Ntuli; Adèle Hattingh, Primary Markets: Business Development & Exchange Traded Products Manager at the JSE and Director of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at the JSE, Zanele Morrison.
“Despite the challenging times that the world is experiencing, the JSE continues to play its part in championing conversations about investment and driving inclusion. We are playing our part to ensure that women have a seat at the table and are part of financial discourse,” concludes Morrison.
