Southgate Mall was a Melting Pot of activity during the festive season offering extraordinary shopping and entertainment experiences that spread cheers to its patrons. On Thursday the 23rd of December 2021 Southgate Mall spread the love by sharing their festive joy with 30 children from Nkosi’s Haven.
Nkosi’s Haven is an established NGO in the South of Johannesburg within the immediate community of Southgate Mall. The organization has been in operation since 1999 offering holistic care and support for destitute HIV/AIDS infected mothers and their children, and resulting AIDS orphans (infected or not).
The children were treated to numerous activities and delights procured from the respective tenants within the mall, such as breakfast at Spur, a full 3D movie experience with SterKinekor, and photos with Santa, while they enjoyed an interactive puppet show at the newly revamped Food Court.
The fun-filled day ended with all the children receiving special Christmas gifts ranging from toys, gadgets to games. The Centre further donated toiletry essentials for the children and all the families that live at the shelter.
The General Manager of Southgate Mall, Selina Seitshiro, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to make a difference in the community, “After a difficult year following the effects of the pandemic, being able to offer a heart-warming festive experience which put a smile on the children’s faces, was truly humbling.”
